Immerse yourself in the world of Paul Cézanne!

This multimedia app has been produced to coincide with the exhibition ‘Cézanne - Les ateliers du Midi’ at the Palazzo Reale in Milan. Designed to be used as a guide whilst visiting the exhibition, it takes you directly to the places as featured in Cézannes paintings.

The app includes over 30 videos helping you to rediscover Cézanne’s ateliers as they are today, including the first at his fathers house, as well as his last, the Atelier des Lauves, which still looks exactly as Cézanne left it when he died.

But Cézanne’s atelier was also Provence itself. Users of the app will enjoy spectacular panoramas of the Midi - the South of France near Aix-en-Provence painted by Cézanne - like the prehistoric quarries of Bibémus and the iconic Montagne Sainte Victoire.

Throughout the guide you are accompanied by world-renowned Cézanne experts including Philippe Cézanne, the artists great-grandson, Denis Coutagne, the President of the ‘Cézanne Foundation’, who reveals how Cézannes style anticipated the avanguardes of the 20th century and Michel Fraisset, Director of the ‘Atelier de Cézanne’ in Aix en Provence, who talks about the artist’s extraordinary still life paintings.

The app has been designed with simplicity in mind and features:
•a scrollable menu of audio and video commentaries packed with expert interviews;
•a ‘Gallery View’ with high-resolution, fully zoomable images of the works discussed;
•a timeline detailing Cézanne’s life and career illustrated with historical and contextual images.

Download this app and use it as a multimedia guide at the exhibition and then keep it afterwards as a memento. If you are unable to visit the exhibition, use it as a reference of Cézanne’s work you can explore again and again.

The app is available in English and Italian.

The app was produced by Antenna International and Skira.
